dont spent your money with this awful app

1st of al, its not a whole octave (c to c) its c to b. its so incoveniant if i need it to practice piano and when my piano isnt working. also, when you press don on a key, it doesnt show you any sign what so ever that you are pressing down on that key, 3rd, you cant see the keys when you arent in full screen. Very poor, if you improve this, ill write a better review, but for now..,this thing isnt the best thing to buy and i cant believe i spent 99 cents on it. WASTE

why so few keys active on the keyboard? you should also highlight keys on the screen when you press them

Some features that would be nice to have: volume control - to match keyboard volume with other audio aps that are being used simultaneously, e.g. iTunes, etc. Size control - to shrink or expand the size of the keyboard. Settings memory - so that when that when launching the app, the keyboard returns to the setting (# octaves, volume, size, etc.) from previous use. Option to turn off the introductory jingle - cute but annoying!

Is there a way to change the size of the window? I want to have this on my screen alongside a sheet music PDF. Also, sometimes when I press notes on my keyboard, the notes do not sound, mostly when playing large chords.

You get only one octave at a time. so if you are working on something in a range that is more than an octave you have to move the view a whole ovatve to go to the next note. too awkward to be useful.

not only does this only show one octave at a time and inhibit chords that use more than one octave, but no matter how long a key is depressed, the note will be held for exactly the same amount of time--keys also give no indication of whether or not they are being played--DO NOT BUY THIS

it is a well built fully functioning app but only shows a small amount of keys at a time. It has C-B but not high C which makes it hard to play many songs, even just Do-Re-Mi. It is also not the easiest app to navigate. when I first got it I was confused about all the functions. Its not that theres so many of them, its just that its confusing to navigate around.

Dont was .99 cents on this. Only shows one octave.

I am a pastor who picks songs for worship. I have some training in music (trumpet and french horn) but not piano or voice. I bought this with the hope of having something simple so I could play the notes for the melody that Im debating whether or not to use in worship---I was hoping the key that played C would be labeled "C" . I guess if I had looked closer I would have realized they were QWERTY line ups rather than notes. Add that feature and this app would fit my needs perfectly.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I already play the piano, and read music. My need was something I could grab really quick or already had with me (laptop) to pick out a tune when I couldn’t quite hear it in my head. Sometimes I’m picking out church music or something and I just can’t access a piano to check a melody or the sing-ability of a particular version of something. Or something that seems completely unfamiliar to me. I used to use my tiny old MIDI machine, especially at auditions, but I might not have it with me, or don’t want to carry another piece of equipment around “just in case”. Note to those auditioning with it, when you’re asked to look something over then sing it, this may sound selfish, but use EARPHONES. For you, you’ll be able to hear it, and you won’t have to end up playing everyone elses sample for them because they weren’t prepared, and for them, you won’t be bothering others who are trying to go over a different tune.

Works fine for what it is, a very minimal piano that can be played with keyboard keys or mouse clicks Piano sound is not awesome Top note in 3 octave view (or any other view we’ve tried) is c 2 octaves above middle c, which is not high enough for high soprano pieces. Would be much more useful for vocal work if the 3 octaves range could be set up and down.

Sometimes my sight reading isn’t always as accurate as I’d like it to be, and this app is perfect for correcting mistakes while I learn. Interface is intuitive and simple, sound ok for what I need it to do. I don’t think I’ll be playing a concert with this app any time soon, and it’s great for just being there to serve as a learning companion and note checker.
